SMPAi, also known as Samrat's Modeling and Performing Arts Private Limited, was the brainchild of its founder, Mr. Samrat Mukherji, at a very tender age in 1994. Initially, the institute was known as Samrat's Fashion Ballet. In 2001, the institute became Samrat's Modeling and Performing Arts Private Limited. In 2006, SMPAi added a new wing for Dance and Music. Gradually, the institute grew into a significant institution. A Media Studies course was introduced. From 2012 onwards, SMPAi established branches throughout West Bengal, including locations in Behala, Siliguri, and Durgapur. Over 70,000 students have graduated from SMPAi, with many working in front of and behind the camera as actors, directors, executive producers, RJs, news readers, and more. SMPAi celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. The institute has produced 21 diploma films with the active participation of its students. It can be confidently stated that SMPAi is undoubtedly a pioneer in acting and modeling education in Eastern India.
